Scholarships

The B.D. Bangur Endowment offers this scholarship every year based on merit. The number of scholarships offered is variable. Undergraduate/postgraduate students interested in several fields of study including Architecture, Art & Design, Medicine, Business Management, Computer Science & Information Technology at one of the IITs / IIMs or has admission to an institution abroad can apply for this scholarship.

  • Students should be less than 35 years of age.
  • Applicants should be able to establish genuine financial need
  • If they are in the normal academic disciplines, they should be graduates with a consistent academic record of distinction from an Indian university of recognized standing
  • Those in the final year of a degree course would also be eligible. However, selection is subject to a good performance in the final degree examination
  • In exceptional cases, loan scholarships may be given for undergraduate studies if the course, deemed otherwise appropriate to the Endowment’s objective, is not available in India
  • Students should be able to communicate fluently in English
  • At the time of applying for the loan scholarship, students should have applied for admission to a university.

Advertisements will placed in the leading newspapers and relevant magazines inviting applications for a particular year

Request for application forms should be sent to the office of Endowment at Kolkata along with the following:

  • Bio-data outlining academic background including subjects offered and Class obtained in each final examination
  • Evidence of admission (if available)
  • Proof of date of birth (copy)
  • Details of available financial support
  • Score sheets of the Qualifying Examinations like GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, etc. (copy)
  • A Postal Order of Rs.50/- towards cost of brochure, application form and courier charges.
  • The candidate is required to answer all questions in detail. No columns should be left blank
  • Letters from referees, with their name & address should be enclosed

The person who will guarantee the regular payment of the insurance premium and repayment of the loan The Application Form must reach the office of the Endowment on or before the specified date.

Students should be able to describe thoughtful and coherent educational and career plans. Preference is given to people who intend on studying subjects of developmental relevance. They should have a record of extra-curricular interests and achievements. Students should demonstrate the potential to achieve their goals in a foreign academic environment.

The Eastern Navigation-MaritimeONE Scholarship is offered by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF) for pursuing Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Naval Architecture and Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Offshore Engineering at Newcastle University, UK (with Singapore Institute of Technology). This scholarship is open to undergraduate students at Newcastle University.

Through this scholarship, SMF hopes to attract young talents into the maritime industry. The number of scholarships offered varies every year. The scholarships are sponsored by Eastern Navigation Pte Ltd.

The scholarship awards are valued at S$30K, and are disbursed in 2 stages. Students applying for this scholarship must:

  • Have outstanding academic results
  • Have good leadership skills and character
  • Have active CCA records demonstrating leadership qualities and community involvement
  • Demonstrate interest in maritime business and intention to pursue career in maritime industry.

The requirements for this scholarship are listed below:

  • The student must be a Singapore citizen
  • He/she should have excellent ‘O’ level results
  • He/she should have excellent Polytechnic Diploma qualification results.

To apply for this scholarship, students have to register and create an account online at http://student.brightsparks.com.sg . They will then have to login to their accounts and fill the details online and submit the required documents. The applications are generally accepted from April to May.

Students availing this scholarship have to sign a two year bond.

LRET-MaritimeONE Scholarship is offered by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF). This scholarship is open to undergraduate students at Newcastle University. Through this scholarship, SMF hopes to attract young talents into the maritime industry. Three scholarships are awarded annually. The scholarships are sponsored by Lloyd’s Register Foundation.

These scholarships are awarded to students of any nationality for pursuing Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Marine Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Naval Architecture, and Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Offshore Engineering at Newcastle University, UK (with Singapore Institute of Technology).
Students applying for this scholarship must:

  • Have outstanding academic results
  • Have good leadership skills and character
  • Have active CCA records demonstrating leadership qualities and community involvement
  • Demonstrate interest in maritime business and intention to pursue career in maritime industry.

The requirements for this scholarship are listed below:

  • The student could be a citizen of any country
  • He/she should have excellent ‘O’ level results
  • He/she should have excellent Polytechnic Diploma Qualification.

The applications are generally accepted from April to May

Students availing this scholarship do not have to sign any bond. Scholars would be paid in the equivalent SGD based on the prevailing exchange rate offered by SMF’s bank.

The MAS Mid-Term Undergraduate Scholarship is provided by Monetary Authority of Singapore The scholarship is offered for undergraduate study in any discipline (with the exception of Medicine, Dentistry and Architecture) at any reputed university. Language courses are supported if they earn credits that count toward the final degree. It is a prestigious award that gives the most outstanding individuals the opportunity to pursue their dreams at the world’s best universities. It promises them a career dedicated to solving some of Singapore’s most challenging problems. The scholarship is tenable for 4 years of undergraduate study at any reputed university in Singapore or overseas. The number of scholarships offered varies each year.

The scholarship covers tuition and other approved fees, maintenance allowance, pre-studies allowance, sponsorship of exchange programme/study abroad programme/special term (if requirements are met), sponsorship of masters degree (if requirements are met), and 8 weeks internship during 2nd year of undergraduate studies. In case of overseas awards, the return airfare is also covered. In case of local awards, the hostel allowance is covered. Upon completing undergraduate studies with this scholarship, students are placed in one functional area within MAS, where they receive training.

  • Only students in or before their penultimate year of undergraduate studies are eligible for the MAS Mid-Term Undergraduate Scholarship
  • The MAS Mid-Term Undergraduate Scholarship offer is conditional upon the candidate’s performance during an internship with MAS of at least 8-weeks duration
  • The student should be an all-rounder who has excelled in both academic and non-academic pursuits
  • He/she should have demonstrated excellent leadership capabilities either in his/her CCAs or in activities outside of school
  • The scholarship is open to Singapore citizens, Singapore permanent residents and foreigners who are intending to obtain a Singapore citizenship.

Continuation of the scholarship from year to year will be dependent on satisfactory performance in examinations. The scholarships are not available if the student is applying as an affiliated applicant.

The applications are generally accepted from April to May

You may submit your online application at any time during the year, but the actual assessment will only take place in Mar and Oct of that year.

Shortlisted applicants will go through five stages of assessments:

  • Essay writing and psychometric test
  • Panel interview
  • Group discussion and psychometric test
  • Interview with management members
  • Internship assessment.

To be considered in the provisional selection exercise, students should submit their application in September. They can also submit their application using their preliminary examination results. Students do not need to secure a place before applying for the scholarship, but they should indicate their choice of universities and courses in the application. Scholarship offers made at the end of the provisional exercise will be conditional if the student meets academic requirements in the final examinations. Students may be considered in the main exercise (in March) if they are not shortlisted in the provisional exercise.

The Khazanah – Cambridge Scholarships are merit based scholarships provided by Yayasan Khazanah. The number of scholarships offered varies each year. Students interested in several fields of study including Architecture, Art & Design, Medicine, Business Management, Computer Science & Information Technology at the undergraduate/postgraduate level from the University of Cambridge can apply for this scholarship.

  • University composition fee
  • College fee
  • Annual stipend sufficient for a single student
  • One return economy airfare

Students can apply irrespective of their gender. The scholarship is applicable to citizens of Malaysia who are applying to, or who have already secured a conditional or unconditional offer of admission into the University of Cambridge, and meet the requirements below:Undergraduate studies:

  • The student should not exceed 21 years of age as at the enrolment date for the degree programme
  • He/she must have an excellent academic track record, with an actual or predicted minimum of 3 As, or show evidence of excellent performance throughout their pre-university studies
  • Must apply to pursue a full-time residential degree.

Successful students are required to return to work in Malaysia for the number of years equal to the length of their scholarship (minimum 2 years).

The TOEFL Scholarship Program in India is a merit based scholarship provided by Educational Testing Service (ETS). It is offered to 10 students per year. This scholarship is provided to Indian undergraduate students for colleges in Australia, Canada, India, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States of America.

The trust provides 10 scholarships valued at US$7,000 per year. It is applicable to Indian undergraduate and postgraduate students interested in Architecture, Law, Medicine, Science, Humanities, Health Care, Education and Teaching, Journalism, Media, PR and Events, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Business Management.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student:

  • Should be living in India
  • Should hold a grade point average of 80 or higher on a 100-point scale, or a 3.0 grade point average or higher on a 4-point scale
  • Begin an undergraduate or graduate degree at a college or university listed in the TOEFL Destination Search
  • Should demonstrate English proficiency with a valid TOEFL score

SPH Journalism Scholarship (Overseas Undergraduate) is a merit based scholarship provided by Singapore Press Holdings Ltd (SPH). The number of scholarships offered to students varies each year. This scholarship is provided to Singapore students for undergraduate programmes in any college in United States of America, Australia, Canada, India, Singapore, New Zealand and United Kingdom.

The scholarship does not specify the amount it will grant to students. The award covers all tuition and compulsory fees, maintenance allowance, book allowance as well as return air tickets. It also includes one-time clothing, settling-in and computer allowances. This scholarship is applicable to undergraduate students interested in Architecture, Law, Medicine, Science, Humanities, Health care, Education and Teaching, Journalism, Media, PR and Events, Computer Science and Information Technology, and Business Management. It is applicable to students from Singapore.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student should:

  • Be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident
  • Have GCE ‘A’ Level, International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent certification
  • Have done consistently well in school and have strong language skills
  • Have an impressive co-curricular activities record
  • Have strong leadership qualities
  • Have a strong interest in a career in writing and should not be currently in receipt of any other scholarship.

 

  • An internship is a part of the selection Process
  • Only the students who do well in internships will be recommended by their supervisors for the final round of interview.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) Scholarship is a merit based scholarship provided by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA). The number of scholarships offered to students varies per year. This scholarship is provided to Singapore students for postgraduate and undergraduate studies at any college in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States of America.

The scholarship does not specify the amount that it will grant to students. It includes the maintenance allowance, computer allowance and all other compulsory fees related to the course. It is applicable to postgraduate and undergraduate students interested in Science, Engineering and Technology, Computer Science and Information Technology.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the

  • Student should be Singapore citizen
  • Student should have taken GCE ‘A’ Level/ IB with outstanding academic track records
  • Student should be a polytechnic student who graduates with a Diploma with merit

 

The application process consists of three steps that include essay submission, interview/presentation with senior management, and interview with the Chief Executive. Successful applicants are required to sign a bond to serve MPA upon completion of the studies for a number of years stated on the website.

The John F Slowey Memorial Scholarship is a merit based scholarship, provided by the Australian Catholic University. Students interested in several fields of studies including Architecture, Art & Design, Engineering & Technology, Medicine, Business Management, Computer Science & Information Technology at the Australian Catholic University can apply for this scholarship.

The scholarship is applicable to students from all international countries for studies in Australia. Scholarships of up to $2500 per year are awarded to students. The scholarship is awarded to the students who are pursuing undergraduate studies at Australian Catholic University at the Strathfield campus.

This scholarship is open to second or third year undergraduate students from the School of Education, Strathfield Campus (Australian Catholic University).

All the students have to submit the filled application form before a given deadline. The following documents must be submitted with the application:

  • Academic transcript
  • Evidence of the applicant’s contribution to, and/or leadership in, community service.

The Peter W. Sheehan Scholarship is a merit based scholarship, provided by the Australian Catholic University (ACU). Only one scholarship is offered to students each year. Students interested in pursuing Psychology at the undergraduate level from the Australian Catholic University, can apply for the scholarship.

The scholarship is applicable to students from all international countries, who wish to study in Australia. Scholarships of around $1000 per year are awarded to students. Awardees are selected by the Executive Dean Faculty of Arts and Sciences (or nominees), Head of School Psychology, and other representatives as deemed appropriate.

The scholarship is awarded to third year students (full-time or part-time equivalent) who are pursuing their Bachelor of Psychological Sciences from the Australian Catholic University. Students can apply irrespective of their gender.

Students must submit the filled up application forms, as directed per the deadlines. The application form can be downloaded from the scholarship’s official webpage. Some of the important documents a student needs are:

The Catherine McAuley Scholarship is a need based scholarship, provided by the Sisters of Mercy. Only two scholarships are offered to students each year. Students who wish to pursue fields like Architecture, Art & Design, Medicine, Business Management, and Computer Science & Information Technology at the undergraduate level from the Australian Catholic University (ACU) can apply for this programme.

The scholarship is applicable to students from all international countries, who wish to study in Australia. Scholarships of up to $2500 per year will be awarded to the students. The scholarship is paid annually for the entire duration of the course. The scholarship is open to all undergraduate students.

Students can apply irrespective of their gender. The scholarship is open to first year undergraduate students (except Bachelor of Theology students) from the Brisbane Campus Australian Catholic University (ACU).

Students need to complete an online application to be considered for the scholarship.

  • A written statement of approximately 100 words outlining ” How the scholarship could financially support the applicant’s intended program of study”

The Sister Cecily Dunne Scholarship is a merit based scholarship, provided by the St. John of God Health Care (Ballarat). Only one scholarship is offered to students each year. Students who wish to pursue Nursing at the undergraduate level from the Australian Catholic University, can apply for the scholarship.

The scholarship is applicable to students from all international countries, who wish to study Australia. The total grant money Scholarships of up to $2500 per year are awarded to the students. The total amount is paid out in one lump sum. The scholarship is open to all undergraduate students.

Students can apply irrespective of their gender. This scholarship is open to third year Bachelor of Nursing students from the Ballarat Campus, Australian Catholic University (ACU).

Students must submit the application form before the given deadline. Students should also submit the following documents along with the application:

The Pacific Aluminium Scholarship in Chemical and Materials Engineering Scholarship was established in 2010 by Pacific Aluminium (formerly Rio Tinto Alcan), Australia. This award is to recognise and support a student undertaking Part III of a BE or BE (Honours) degree in Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Auckland. One scholarship is offered per year

The scholarship is applicable to students from India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, and Laos for studies at the University of Auckland. It awards an amount of up to AUD $5000 per annum and is applicable to all undergraduate students.

This scholarship is applicable to students with excellent academic merit, leadership potential, personal qualities, and communication skills and analytical and research ability.

  • The tenure of this scholarship is one year
  • A Selection Committee assesses the applications
  • The scholarships are awarded by the University of Auckland Council on the recommendation of the Selection Committee.

Kewalram Chanrai Group Endowed Scholarship is a need based scholarship provided by Kewalram Chanrai Group. Two scholarships will be awarded once every four years. This scholarship is provided to first year full-time undergraduates of foreign nationalities pursuing any degree at Singapore Management University in Singapore.

This scholarship grants up to an amount of S$30000 per year. It is applicable to full-time undergraduate students from all countries interested in any degree programme at the Singapore Management University. Preference is given to students from developing countries including but not limited to countries in which Kewalram Chanrai Group operates, such as Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, South America, Southeast Asia, and China.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student should:

  • Be full-time first year undergraduate of foreign nationalities in any degree program
  • Have good academic achievements
  • Demonstrate leadership skills or potential and good moral character
  • Have active CCAs and community involvement
  • Have a keen sectored interest in textiles, automotive, agriculture, commodities, international trade, IT and real estate
  • Have evidence of financial need.

 

  • This scholarship is tenable for up to four years of the scholars’ studies, subject to outstanding academic performance
  • This scholarship offers financial support towards the scholars’ tuition fees and/or study-related expenses, such as the purchase of a notebook computer which the scholars may keep upon successful completion of their studies, purchase of textbooks, participation in Business Study Mission and/or International Student Exchange Program with SMU partner universities
  • No bond is required under the terms of this scholarship.

The Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Encourage Upgrading (LKY-STEP) Award is a merit based scholarship provided by Lee Kuan Yew. Five scholarships are offered per year. Students interested in several fields of study including Architecture, Art & Design, Medicine, Business Management and Computer Science & Information Technology at the undergraduate level from several universities including Nanyang Technological University, National University of Singapore, and Singapore Management University can apply for this scholarship.

The scholarship is applicable to students from Singapore for studies in Singapore. Scholarships of up to S$3500 are awarded to the students. The scholarship is open to all undergraduate students

Students can apply irrespective of their gender. To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must:

  • Be a Singapore citizen or a Singapore Permanent Resident
  • Study at a full-time undergraduate programme leading to a first degree
  • Have strong leadership qualities and potential
  • Have an excellent Co-Curricular Activities records

The award may be withdrawn at any time, if, in the opinion of the university, the award holder’s progress or behaviour has not been satisfactory. If the award holder decides to terminate the scholarship prematurely, the university reserves the right to impose a repayment on a case-by-case basis.

LKY-STEP Award covers the normal duration of the undergraduate studies on the condition that the holder maintains a good academic performance and satisfactory conduct.

  • LKY-STEP Award holders receive:
    • One-off cash award of S$3,500
    • Subsidised tuition fees are waived by the universities if LKY-STEP Award holders are unsuccessful in securing a concurrent scholarship.

The Hodson Trust Scholarships are merit based scholarships provided by the Hodson Trust. Twenty scholarships are offered yearly. Students interested in Humanities and Science at the undergraduate level at Johns Hopkins University can apply for this scholarship.

The scholarship is applicable to students from all international countries for studies in United States of America. Scholarships of up to $28500 per year are awarded to students. The scholarship is awarded to fewer than 20 students yearly by the Hodson Trust. It is applicable to all undergraduate students.

All students are eligible to apply irrespective of their gender. This scholarship is applicable to:

    • All international students
    • The students who have superior academic achievement in a challenging programme, the highest test scores, and leadership in school and/or community, state, regional, or national activities
    • The students who maintain minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

To apply for the Johns Hopkins University International Scholarship, students should complete the College Scholarship Service Profile atlink. In addition, they need to submit a copy of their parents’ federal tax return from their home country.
Any student who cannot complete the College Scholarship Service Profile form has to contact the Office of Student Financial Services by email [email protected], and explain why they cannot complete the application or to request a paper application alternative.
International students have to submit two additional components along with the application:

      • International Student Certification of Finances form including the bank verification. All international applicants are required to submit this form with their application
      • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) requirement

China Navigation-Maritime ONE Scholarship is offered by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF). This scholarship is open to 2nd year undergraduate students at Newcastle University. The scholarships are sponsored by China Navigation Company Limited.

These scholarships are awarded to Singapore citizens for pursuing Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Marine Engineering at Newcastle University, UK (with Singapore Institute of Technology). The scholarship awards are valued at S$36000, and are disbursed in 2 stages. Students applying for this scholarship must:

  • Have outstanding academic result
  • Have good leadership skills and character
  • Have active CCA records demonstrating leadership qualities and community involvement
  • Demonstrate interest in maritime business and intention to pursue career in maritime industry.

The requirements for this scholarship are listed below:

  • Should be a Singapore Citizen
  • Current 4th year undergraduate, completing his/her studies in July 2016
  • CGPA 3.5 or above
  • Excellent ‘O’ Level results
  • Excellent ‘A’ Level results or Polytechnic Diploma Qualification
  • Must be fluent in English and numerated, knowledge of additional language would be of advantage
  • Hold a valid unrestricted Singaporean passport and have completed NS (where applicable)

The applications are generally accepted from April to May.

Students availing this scholarship have to sign a 2-year bond. The successful students will have an initial induction and familiarisation at the Head Office in Singapore. After this, the student must expect that he/she may be posted at any of China Navigation’s (CNCo) offices worldwide, or to any shipyard worldwide, or to any vessel base operating port worldwide even in a country where CNCo has no office (at CNCo’s cost), and at CNCo’s sole discretion based on the company’s determination of their needs and the candidate’s skill sets. Prospective candidates who are unable, or not willing to travel during three years immediately after graduation at a short notice and/or be based outside of Singapore for a short, medium or long period of time (maximum three years), need not apply. Candidate should exude keen interest in the offshore marine industry.

Sembcorp Marine-MaritimeONE Scholarship is offered by the Singapore Maritime Foundation (SMF). This scholarship is open to 1st year undergraduate students at Newcastle University. Through this scholarship, SMF hopes to attract young talents into the maritime industry. The number of scholarships offered varies every year. The scholarships are sponsored by Sembcorp Marine Ltd.

These scholarships are awarded to Singapore citizens for pursuing Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Marine Engineering, Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Naval Architecture, and Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Offshore Engineering at Newcastle University, UK (with Singapore Institute of Technology). The scholarship awards are valued at S$35000, and are disbursed in 2 stages.

The requirements for this scholarship are listed below:

  • He/she should have excellent Polytechnic Diploma qualification results.

Manmohan Singh Undergraduate Scholarship is offered jointly by University of Cambridge and Cambridge Assessment. It is awarded in honour of India’s Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The scholarship is awarded to Indian students who wish to pursue undergraduate study at the University of Cambridge. The number of scholarships offered varies every year.

These scholarships are awarded to Indian citizens for pursuing BA in any subject except Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at University of Cambridge, UK. The scholars must be school passouts who have not already gained a BA degree. The scholarships will cover the cost of tuition fees and college fees together with a grant towards maintenance and travel costs for each year of the course. The maintenance element of the scholarship will take account of the student’s financial circumstances.

TTo be eligible for the scholarship, the applicants:

  • Must be Indian citizens
  • Must be liable to pay university fees at the overseas rate and should not be able to fund their studies at Cambridge independently
  • Must meet the English language requirements of the university
  • Should also meet the usual entrance requirements for admission to Cambridge.

Continuation of the scholarship from year to year will be dependent on satisfactory performance in examinations. The scholarships are not available if the student is applying as an affiliated applicant.

The applications are generally accepted from April to May

This is possible through a jointly funded scholarship programme the DayaDiri Cambridge Scholarship. It is applicable to students from Malaysia for studies at University of Cambridge in United Kingdom. The scholarship offers tuition fees, college fee, and annual stipend.   • The scholarship is applicable to Bumiputera citizens of Malaysia

This scholarship is provided to Indian students at the undergraduate level for admission to any college in the United States of America.

The scholarship does not specify the amount that it will grant to students. This scholarship is applicable to Indian students interested in Architecture, Law, Medicine, Science, Humanities, Health Care, Education and Teaching, Journalism, Media, PR and Events, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Business Management.

  • Students who have passed at least the secondary school certificate or other equivalent examination and who have secured not less than 50% of the total marks in the last examination given by them prior to making the applications are eligible to apply for the scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student should:

  • Be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident
  • Have GCE ‘A’ Level, International Baccalaureate, Polytechnic Diploma or equivalent certification
  • Have done consistently well in school and have strong language skills
  • Have an impressive co-curricular activities record
  • Have strong leadership qualities

The NOL Lua Cheng Eng Memorial Scholarship is a merit based scholarship provided by Neptune Orient Lines Limited, Singapore. It is offered to two students per year. This scholarship is provided to all international students for undergraduate studies at any college in Singapore Management University, Singapore.

  • Be a full-time undergraduate of any nationality and of good character
  • Be enrolled in a degree or major in Business Management with primary focus in any one or more of these disciplines – Logistics And Supply Chain Management, Law, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology and Arts or Communications
  • Have an interest for a career in the maritime industry and be willing to undertake an internship with the donor if offered
  • Have outstanding academic results (minimum cumulative GPA of 3.4)
  • Demonstrate leadership potential and active involvement in community service.

The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship is a merit based scholarship, provided by the Philanthropic Educational Organisation. The number of scholarships offered varies each year. Scholarships are awarded annually to women who are citizens of countries other than the United States or Canada for graduate study in a degree program from accredited schools in the United States and Canada.

The scholarship is applicable to students from any country for studies in the United States of America & Canada. Scholarships of up to $10,000 per year are awarded. Scholarship awardees are generally undergraduate students pursuing their studies in USA & Canada. The maximum scholarship amount for one (1) year (12 months) of study is $10,000, based upon need. Lesser amounts may be awarded according to individual need.

  • The scholarships are awarded to female applicants only
  • The applicants should be qualified for admission into full-time graduate study, working toward a graduate degree in a college or a university in the United States or Canada
  • A student holding citizenship or permanent residency of the United States or Canada is not eligible to apply for the scholarship

The George Alexander Foundation Bursaries are merit based scholarships provided by George Alexander Foundation. Ten scholarships are offered per year. The Social Work Rural Placement Scholarship is a merit based scholarship, provided by the Australian Catholic University (ACU). The number of scholarships offered varies each year. Students, who wish to pursue a career in Social Work and other related fields of study at the undergraduate or postgraduate level from the Australian Catholic University, can apply to the scholarship.

The scholarship is applicable to students from all international countries, who wish to study in Australia. Scholarships of up to $ 1,500 per year will be awarded to the students. There are several scholarships valued at up to $1,500 available each year, paid in one lump sum. The total value awarded to all the students does not exceed $1,500. The scholarship also covers the cost of undertaking rural or international placements.

Students can apply irrespective of their gender. The scholarship is open to both Bachelor and Master of Social Work students from the Canberra campus who intend to undertake a rural or international placement (with priority being given to rural placements).

These scholarships were established in 2011 and are funded by the University of Auckland Business School. The main purpose of the scholarships is to support Asian international undergraduate students to complete a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Information Management or Bachelor of Property at the University of Auckland Business School.

The scholarship is applicable to students from South East Asian countries for studies at University of Auckland in New Zealand. The scholarships are paid as a tuition/compulsory fees credit over three years in two instalments per year, one in the first semester and one in the second semester. Up to three scholarships are awarded for a period of up to three years. The scholarship amount covers the full tuition fees for international students who enrol full-time in a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Information Management or Bachelor of Property at the University of Auckland Business School.

  • To be able to continue to hold the scholarship, the scholarship recipients must maintain a GPA of 5.00 (equivalent to a B average) in each semester of study.

The scholarships are awarded by the University of Auckland Council upon the recommendation of a Selection Committee comprising the Dean of the University of Auckland Business School (or nominee), the Associate Dean, Academic Programmes (or nominee) and one Head of Department from the Business School (or nominee). Short-listed students are required to participate in interviews (which take place in the student’s home country or via video conference).

The Kwa Geok Choo Scholarship is funded by the Kwa Geok Choo Law Library Endowment Fund. This scholarship is available to outstanding law undergraduates of the Singapore Management University. Since its establishment in 2011, the Kwa Geok Choo Scholarship has been awarded to outstanding students. Each scholarship awarded shall be tenable for the scholar’s remaining course of study (renewable on a yearly basis subject to the scholar’s continued observance of the eligibility criteria and the terms and conditions of award).

The scholarship has an annual value of $15,000 (or $7,500 per term) and provides an allowance of up to $10,000 which the scholar may utilise to participate in approved international student programmes such as exchange with SMU Partner University, study mission, community service project, global issues forum and special seminars. No bond is required under the terms of this scholarship.

The scholarship is offered at the undergraduate level. Six scholarships are offered annually. Students from any nationality pursuing undergraduate course in law at Singapore Management University can avail the scholarship

  • Present full-time Singapore Management University law students of any nationality who have completed at least one year of full-time legal education at the university level are eligible for this scholarship

The Spring Executive Development Scholarship (EDS) is a merit based scholarship provided by Spring Singapore. It is offered to 30 students per year. This scholarship is provided to Singapore students for postgraduate studies in

The scholarship does not specify the amount that it will grant to students. It is provided to Indian students for postgraduate studies in Law, Medicine, Science, Humanities, Health Care, Education and Teaching, Journalism, Engineering and Technology, Computer Science, and Information Technology and Business Management.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the students should:

  • Be Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Have good University or Polytechnic, GCE ‘O’/’A’ Levels and International Baccalaureate (IB) results
  • Have actively participated in co-curricular activities (CCAs), holding leadership positions
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate strong interest in entrepreneurship and keen passion for Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) development.

 

The bond period with SPRING is only two years after university graduation, regardless of the number of years of sponsored study.
